노바스코갸 국제학생 프로그램 운영 기관인 노바스코샤 주정부 교육청에서 아래와 같이 2016-2017학년도 입학신청 마감일을 보내왔습니다. 특히 지난 5년간 노바스코샤 국제학생 프로그램이 지속적으로 꾸준이 성장하면서 기존의 5월말(또는 6월) 입학신청 마감일을 2016년 4월말로 앞당긴다는 내용입니다. 

1. 기존의 학생은 2016-2017학년도에도 계속 이어서 프로그램을 참가한다는 확인을 3월말까지 교육청에 전달

2. 2016-2017학년도에 새롭게 참가하는 학생은 2016년 4월 30일까지 입학신청 완료

아래는 노바스코샤 국제학생 프로그램의 총괄디렉터인 Paul 이 보내온 이메일 내용 전문입니다. 

Greetings from a beautiful spring day in February in Nova Scotia. Sadly, it won't last and winter will return soon, I'm sure. 

I am writing today to inform you of recent developments in the NSISP. We are very pleased and proud of the fact our enrollments for September 2016 have dramatically increased over past years and we are up almost 100% from this point last year. While that is an excellent sign of the quality programming we're offering here in Nova Scotia, it is also a great testament to the faith you have placed in us and the fine work you've done promoting our program. For that, please accept our gratitude.

However, with the good comes some bad. We have been completely full for the past five years in September and this year looks like it will be no different. In fact, we will likely be full much earlier than in the past. Therefore, we will have to make some changes to our enrollment procedures in recognition of this situation:

1. We will be requiring all students to declare they are returning by the end of March 2016 rather than the end of April, as in past years. If they do not inform us of their intent to return by that date they may not be able to stay in the same school or host family should they decide later. We will need your assistance in confirming this with all of your students and their parents if you have returning students.

2. We will be moving our closing date from the end of May 2016 to either April 30, 2016 or May 15, 2016. We know it will be earlier than last year and will confirm the final date with you by the end of March, 2016. Please do not plan to place large numbers of last-minute students in Nova Scotia this year as it is unlikely we will have the space to accommodate them.

3. We may place a restriction on the number of three month students because we have seen the number of these students rise dramatically this year. We are very reluctant to fill our program with three-month students who apply early and then not have space for large numbers of full year students from countries with whom we've had a long relationship.

The key message I hope you are receiving is if you have a plan to send students to the NSISP this year it is important you communicate that to Sonya Law, Admissions Officer for Latin America and Europe, (sonyalaw@nsisp.ca) or Aschaelle Terrio, Admissions Officer for Asia (admissions@nsisp.ca)much earlier this year than in the past. We value our great diversity of students in the NSISP and will do our best to ensure the spaces are distributed amongst our partners around the world. Thank you again for your hard work in promoting Nova Scotia and we look forward to a great school year beginning in September 2016.
