아래는 핼리팩스 그래머 스쿨에 재학중인 학생의 홈스테이 가족이 보내온 편지입니다. 홈스테이 가족과의 원만한 관계와 가족의 구성원으로서 가정에서부터 존중받고 있다고 느낄 수 있도록 홈스테이 가족과 주기적으로 교류를 하여 학생들의 성공적인 유학생활에 도움을 주고 있습니다.
A few days ago I finally had a chance to take a picture of C in his HGS uniform. Both he and G were dressed for Picture day (I think it was) and I got Hallie to take a few pics of them before they went out the door. C appears to have settled in quite comfortably and Hallie, Tom and I are very pleased to have him. He’s very friendly and quick to smile – even at my dumb jokes. He is a member of the HGS soccer team, where he will make new friends. They had a game today which they won 4-3. He studies hard and I think he’s enjoying school life. We have been playing ‘walk away’ chess – where one player makes a move when they have time to look at the board and then the other player does the same. The games take about a week or so to finish but it‘s good fun and C is improving. I think that soon he will be a real challenge. I wasn’t sure if the kids had ever eaten lobster so last week I bought and cooked 4 of them (my son Tom doesn’t care about lobster) and we had a messy and delicious dinner. That’s all for now.
